Aquatics Programs

Our indoor pool is the heart of the Rec Center, offering a year-round place to swim and relax. ​

From lap swimming, Red Cross swim lessons, Aqua Fit, to a competitive swim team, and open swim for splashing and playing our aquatics programs offer a variety of activities for all ages and abilities. ​

Our pool area also hosts our sauna and hot tub, both are open for use at the same times as pool hours.

 October Session: October 18th - November 10th

Little Fish - 4:00 - 4:30 pm on Wednesdays
Big Fish - 4:00 - 4:30 pm on Fridays
Level 1 - 4:00 - 4:30 pm on Wednesdays and Fridays Level 1 is sold out. get added to our wait list-->
Level 2 - 4:30 - 5:00 pm on Wednesdays and Fridays 
Level 3 - 5:00 - 5:30 pm on Wednesdays and Fridays  Level 3 is sold out. get added to our wait list-->
Level 4 - 4:30 - 5:15 pm on Wednesdays and Fridays
Level 5/6 - 5:15 - 6:00 pm ​on Wednesdays and Fridays

Parent and Child Swimming

All lessons are taught by a Red Cross Certified Instructor

Little Fish Swim Readiness Class

  • Ages: 6 months - 2 years
  • Class length: 30 minutes
  • Session Duration: Four sessions over  4 weeks
  • Parent Participation: One adult per child must be in the water with the child during the lesson times.

​Familiarize children between the ages of 6 months and approximately 3 years with the water and teach swimming readiness skills.
Provide safety information for parents and teach techniques parents can use to orient their children to the water.​ ​​

Big Fish Swim Readiness Class

  • Ages: 2 - 5 years
  • Class length: 30 minutes
  • Session Duration: Four sessions over 4 weeks
  • Parent Participation: One adult per child must be in the water with the child during the lesson times.
​​​Improve skills learned in Parent and Child Aquatics Level 1 and teach more advanced skills.
​ Continue to build on water safety knowledge for you and your child.​​ ​

Red Cross Swim Lessons

  • Ages: 5 years +
  • Class length: 30 minutes
  • Session Duration: Eight sessions over 4 weeks
  • Parent Participation: One parent/guardian be in the pool area 

We need a minimum of 4 registered to hold a level. If unable to register because online registrations are full, please call us at 715-779-5408 or fill out the form above to be added to our waitlist.

  • Level 1 - Students explore and learn basic aquatic skills. ​
    • Level 1 is sold out. Get added to our waitlist in case a spot opens
  • Level 2 - Students will successfully use primary skills and start developing aquatic locomotion.​​​
  • Level 3- Students develop stroke readiness including elementary backstroke, treading water and diving.
    • Level 3 is sold out. Get added to our waitlist in case a spot opens
  • Level 4 - Students will build confidence and improve strokes including breaststroke, sidestroke, and turns.​
  • Level 5 - Students refine their performance of all strokes and increase their distance.
  • Level 6 - Students increase distance, demonstrate effectiveness and efficiency in all strokes.​

Family/Group Swim Lessons

Private Swim Lessons (Youth or Adult)

Thursdays through Sept 1 between 4pm-6pm
30 minute lesson 
Members $45 per person
​Non-members $75 per person


Semi-private swim lessons are available for 2 or more swimmers with a 4 swimmer max. Swimmers must be around the same skill level. All Group/Family Lessons will be taught by a Red Cross Certified Instructor.
Thursdays through Sept 1 between 4pm-6pm
30 minute lesson
Members $60
Non-members $90


Private swim lessons are available for children and adults who would like individual instruction to further their swimming ability and/or for those whose schedules do not fit our regularly scheduled lessons. All Private Lessons will be taught by a Red Cross Certified Instructor.
Steps to scheduling a Family/Group or Private Lesson
1. Email Isaac at isaac@bayfieldrec.org to discuss the swimming needs or goals of you or your child.
2. Arrange a time for your Family/Group or Private Lesson
3. Make payment for your scheduled Family/Group or  Private Lessons using the link
Private/Group Lessons

Aqua Fit

Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 8:30 am-9:15 am.

Walk In: Rec Center Members FREE. 
​Non-Members Pay Day Pass Prices.

Aqua Fit Classes are designed to improve your muscle strength, heart health, balance and mobility without the high impact of a regular aerobics class on your knees or back. Aqua Fit is a fun class appropriate for all skill levels, swimmers and non-swimmers alike. If you're looking to get a full body workout that is fun and done to the rythmic sounds of music, Aqua Fit might just be for you. Come on over and take a peak!
