About our Team:

Skill Requirement:

BAST is designed to support swimmers aged 6-18. Swimmers must be able to swim at least one lap with their face in the water. If you can do that you are ready to join our swim team! We coach to all different skill levels to refine the 4 competitive strokes and racing skills.
Coming to practices with a commitment to improve a little bit every day is required-and any swimmer who follows that rule is already a champion.

Attendance Requirements:

Workouts and skills build upon themselves daily, offering new challenges to swimmers as they progress throughout the season.  For this reason, coming to practice is encouraged, but it is not required to find success on our team. Whether you swim 4 days a week or once a week our team structure supports all kinds of busy schedules.

We are a competitive team that offers many opportunities to participate in competitive meets. Swimmers are encouraged to participate in at least one meet during the season to put their hard work to the test. However, with long travel days and busy schedules we understand that this may not be a possibility. The Coaching team is happy to support your swimmer progress their swimming skills whether they race or not.

The Bay Area Swim Team is a competitive team located farther north than any other swim team in Wisconsin. We have students from several school districts as well as home-schooled students on our team.  We have a proud tradition of producing excellent swimmers!

Community

There are a lot of individual events in competitive swimming, but every member of the team is part of our community of swimmers. Team members are expected to support one another at all times, both in and out of the pool. Older, experienced swimmers are encouraged to mentor, teach, and watch over younger athletes at both practices and competitions.

Parents

Parents and caregivers are important members of the Bay Area Swim Team. Transporting swimmers to practices and meets is a big job; being a sounding board for those frustrating practices is an act of patience; and making sure the homework is done sometimes means perseverance and even more patience. Thank you for all that you do!

Please make sure that we have your email address--it is our main form of communicating directly with you.
We will require that you fill out a waiver and contact info sheet on the first night of practice. You can print and fill out the waiver and contact info sheet above.

Interested in volunteering? BAST is looking for parent volunteers to be present on the pool deck during practices. Even being available one night a week goes a long way in helping our swimmers develop. Contact [email protected] if you want to learn more.
